About Gomy Academy

Our Story

Gomy Academy

Gomy Academy was founded from a lifelong passion for learning, a deep commitment to serving others, and the unwavering belief of two parents that every child deserves to be seen, understood, and empowered to succeed. Long before Gomy Academy became a reality, I dreamed of creating a learning community where every learner could thrive and where education extended beyond the limits of a traditional classroom.

After spending more than a decade serving as a teacher and school district administrator, I witnessed both the incredible potential of students and the challenges that often prevented them from receiving the individualized, comprehensive support they deserved. While I was grateful for the opportunity to make a difference, I often felt constrained by systems that limited how deeply I could support students, educators, families, and the broader community. I knew there had to be another way.

That vision became even more personal when our own child needed a learning environment that embraced neurodiversity and recognized strengths rather than deficits. Like many families, we searched for a place where individualized support, belonging, and meaningful partnerships were at the heart of education. That experience reinforced what years in education had already taught me—that every learner deserves an environment where they are valued, challenged, and empowered to flourish.

Today, Gomy Academy is the realization of that vision. We are a nurturing learning community built on neuro-affirming and asset-based practices, personalized learning, and meaningful partnerships with families and the community. We believe every learner has unique gifts, limitless potential, and the capacity to make a positive impact on the world. It is our privilege to walk alongside students and families as we cultivate confident learners, compassionate leaders, and a lifelong love of learning.
